Right now I am at the Saigon Morrin Hotel in Hue, Vietnam. It is exquisitely beautiful. There are outdoor "gardens" with dozens of hanging orchids everywhere. This morning after breakfast the bus picked up up and brought us to HUFLIT (Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages-Information Technology). When I got there I got sick which was not very enjoyable. Once I felt a little bit better I joined the rest of the group in listening to presentations made by the students. They were given only 1 day to put together 15 minute presentations on a social issue facing Vietnam. They were to be presented entirely in English to all English speaking people and they were extemely impressive. Growing up under a communist government had planted a fear in them not to speak there minds on social issues of any kind. It was amazing to see them take hold of their opinions and share them with such strength in front of strangers. After the presentations we went to the airport for our plane to Hue. When we arrive din Hue there was a fine mist in the air and it felt so nice after being sick and spending the days in 90-100 degree weather. We went straight to the hotel to drop off out things and then went to dinner. I still do not feel 100% in the stomach region but I hope it gets better soon.
